Spare parts

We at crown auto service use spare parts that are hand vetted by us, before we use a particular brand of parts we install a part of that specific brand on our personal cars and check what results it provides, a cost-effective repair depends on the spare parts that are used in the repair process. Most of the brands have two or three types of parts quality that are sold in the market, Usage of first quality parts reduces the burden of recurring repairs that costs extra labor, stress, effort and lost time while keeping your car off road. It is easier to install first quality parts as they are available in an accurate specification unlike the second and third quality that need alterations and modifications prior to installation.

Used parts.

Depending on the need of the customer we decide to replace a part with a used part that reduces the cost of repair, but there will be some amount of risk involved which we explain to the customer, in some instances where it is difficult to find a new part a used part is the only alternative solution. In other cases, if the price of the part is too expensive, especially if it is a major part then the only choice left is a used part. A used part also has a very small warranty of time period, during which we can install the part and return it back if it does not work well, but the price of labor will be doubled and any extra cost like the lubricants will be charged as additional. A limited, time bound warranty is provided by used parts suppliers and no responsibility is undertaken by the suppliers beyond that time frame.

Using the second and third quality parts

Low quality parts are always a safety issue, these parts can be used in an emergency situation but will not last long. Some parts like the brake pads and belts start to show negative results as soon as we fix them, brake pads will also show signs of asbestos dust that is black in color and gets collected on to the wheel rims that need frequent washing and cleaning. A belt also will start making squealing noise after a few days of installation which will require replacing in a short period of time that can result in a loss of previous repair cost.

Electrical parts

All and any electrical parts once purchased do not carry any warranty whether installed or not, this policy is enforced by the suppliers and is not negotiable. It is therefore recommended that customers understand this risk and get their electrical jobs done by experienced professionals who know what steps can be taken if and when the situation arises.

Handling and replacing of electrical, electronic parts are very critical, an inexperienced technician can damage new or original parts quickly if a minor mistake is occurred during installation. Electrical components like bulbs and batteries can create short circuits with the slightest error in handling and fixing that can damage major electrical components and can result in major or expensive repairs.

Lubricants (Engine Oil)

Non specified lubricants are mostly used when the owner of the car is not aware of the quality of lubricants used in their cars or when they visit a service provider who is not qualified to carry out change in lubricants, using the right quality and the ones that are specified by the manufacturer. Usage of the wrong kind of lubricant like the engine oil will start showing up defects like excessive black smoke, clogged injectors, roughness in engine noise and engine overhaul needed within a short period of time. Using the right quality of engine oil and changing it during the right interval can give a very long life to the engine, sometimes up to a million kilometers.

Lubricants (Transmission Fluid)

Transmission fluid is one of the vital components of a transmission and a car, the transmission or gearbox is the second major part of your car, replacing transmission fluid that is of low quality and non-specified can lead to the damage of the gearbox. Not changing transmission fluid is one of the major causes of broken or damaged gearbox. Some of the symptoms that can be felt of a bad transmission is excessive shift shock, gears not engaging, fluid leaks, car not moving after driving for certain kilometers or not exceeding a particular speed limit are some of the signs that can be noticed in a defective transmission.
